I saw and overheard many products being considered and constructed today. Among our 3-5 students, these ranged from surveys and graphs, models of playing fields, visual displays, as well as other summation projects for the week. I'm not sure yet what to expect from the younger children, but I noticed the students and teachers were bustling all morning long. I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with these kids and these teachers over the course of the camp. Along with taking a teaching tool in the form of invitations back to Yagro with me, I have learned plenty about the impact of cultural and lingual factors/funds.

While we have a diverse student body at my school with whom I'm looking forward to honing these experiences, I have to say I'm envious of the teachers who get to work with these kids next year at County Line. Tomorrow should provide further eye-opening opportunities as we get to meet and communicate with (possibly with my feeble Spanish) their parents; and I can't wait to see the spread at lunchtime based on what I've heard about the menu.

I second Richard's reflection on all points. I especially appreciate the opportunity of working with such dedicated teachers from around the county and with the wonderful bunch of students we have been blessed with here. Their enthusiasm for the camp experience and their investigations is heartening. It really makes you want to do your best and give them something to remember and treasure, even if it's just some warm memories!

I have also enjoyed working with the students and teachers in this program. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to get a feel for what invitations are and plan on using them in my classroom this coming year. Hopefully someone will accept my gender role invitation:)

I looking forward to tomorrow. The 3-5 students will share their discoveries with the group. They've worked hard this week and I know this will be apparent.

I don't think I mentioned it yesterday, but on Wednesday we put all of the K-2 students together to buddy read. It went very well, so we decided to do it again Thursday. We've had a great little group of kids. I'm looking forward to seeing them again when school starts.

I have really enjoyed this week. It seems like this experience could be a little longer though. I can imagine how much more we could grow if we just had a little more time. I think two weeks would be so nice.

I really feel like the students and i have begun to get into a routine. I wish that this program could go on a bit longer,. though I know that would be more difficult. I really have enjoyed working with such a small group and having the opportunity to co-teach with someone else.

Wow! I love all of the comments and reflections you all have shared this week. Your enthusiasm, professionalism, and dedication has been fantastic! I know the students have learned so much and the relationships you have built will be guide them throughout the school year.
I am excited at the idea of extending this one more week. I agree that the potential impact on their learning and progress for the upcoming school year could be incredible. Now...we just have to find the funds!
